Wind Instruments
Brass and woodwinds are the two instrument families that create sound by blowing air through a mouthpiece. Woodwind players use air to vibrate a wooden reed, whereas brass players use air to vibrate their lips, a buzzing sound against a metal mouthpiece.
Accompanies Many Different Genres
The majority of young brass and woodwind musicians start out in school concert/symphonic band, but these instruments can be heard in many different styles of music as melody makers and soloists. Jazz, funk, pop, R&B, rock, and hip-hop to name a few.
Group or Solo
Orchestras and big bands are great examples of the capabilities of these instruments as an entire brass/woodwind section. Jazz combos and ska bands are great examples of these instruments as solo accompaniment to smaller music groups with guitars, drums, and vocalists.

He has mentored students of all ages and levels, tailoring his approach to suit their individual goals. Emphasizing both technical mastery and creative expression, he aims to inspire students to reach new musical heights. With over 12 years of experience, he brings a mix of high energy and genuine passion to every lesson, helping students connect with music in a way that feels exciting and approachable. Whether it’s voice, piano, or woodwinds like flute, oboe, clarinet, and saxophone, Brandon has a knack for turning practice into play, keeping students engaged and motivated.
Armed with a Master’s in Voice Performance from the University of Wyoming and a Master of Arts in Music Industry Administration from CSU Northridge, Brandon’s musical journey has also taken him to stages like America’s Got Talent and Romania’s iUmor, where his performances wowed crowds.
But here’s the best part— Brandon’s a big kid at heart. He knows how to connect with his students on their level, making each lesson an adventure filled with laughter and learning. And through his project, Harmonies Across Horizons, he’s also working to spread the joy of music to students who need it most.
